New York Capacity Building Collaborative Workshops

The New York Capacity Building Collaborative provides free trainings to nonprofit grantees of Brooklyn Community Foundation, Andrus Family Fund, Cricket Island Foundation, Daphne Foundation, Korean American Community Foundation, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, New York Foundation, New York Women's Foundation, North Star Fund, Scherman Foundation, and Stonewall Community Foundation.

Building a Visionary Opposition

(for grantees who practice community organizing)

A two-day training, with a follow-up session, designed to create space for organizers to think about and use non-violent direct action tactics as tools to strengthen organizing. 

Dates: Monday, July 17, 2017 & Tuesday, July 18, 2017, with a follow-up session to be held in the early fall

Defending and Expanding Our Safety Net 

(for grantees who are direct service providers)

A two-day convening in with a follow-up session, to review the integration of new practices. At least one senior-level staff member with decision-making power within the social service organization is encouraged to attend, and the session is open to frontline staff as well.  

Dates:  Monday, July 24, 2017 & Tuesday, July 25, 2017, with a follow-up session to be held in the early fall
